Colluta
View winesColutta traces its origin to the “Bandut” estate, bought by Antonio Colutta in 1939 and carried forward today by the third generation. Over time, the cellar evolved from a family property into a modern winery—starting with the renovation of the old family manor in 1999, then expanded again in 2006 with updated vinification spaces and a thermo-conditioned warehouse. They also highlight on-site energy choices such as a photovoltaic system and heating that reuses vine-pruning residues.
Location
Colutta is rooted in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, where they attribute their style to clay soils, a distinctive microclimate, and a position between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, near the borders with Slovenia and Austria. Their vineyards are described as spread between Buttrio, Manzano, and Rosazzo, within the prestigious “Parco della vite e del vino,” covering about 23 hectares planted with both international and native grapes.
Winemaking & Philosophy
Their philosophy is explicitly vineyard-led: “Wine is made in the vineyard!” They frame their work around careful grape-growing practices that respect both the environment and consumers. Since 2017, they state that most of their wines have obtained SQNPI certification (National Integrated Production Quality System), which they link to sustainable quality and the use of fewer chemicals in the vineyard.
