Vino Nobile di Montepulciano
A classic Tuscan red from the hills of Montepulciano, this Vino Nobile expresses the elegance and structure typical of the appellation. Made primarily from Sangiovese (locally known as Prugnolo Gentile), it delivers balanced acidity, refined tannins, and a layered profile shaped by both stainless-steel fermentation and oak aging.
Winemaking process
Grapes are hand-harvested from organically farmed vineyards at around 350 meters above sea level. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks with approximately 15–18 days of skin maceration, followed by malolactic fermentation and aging for about 24 months in large Slavonian oak casks and additional bottle aging before release.
Tasting notes
The nose shows ripe cherry, plum, and wild berry aromas accented by floral notes of violet and subtle hints of spice, leather, and oak. On the palate it is smooth and structured, with flavors of red fruit, gentle spice, and earthy undertones supported by fresh acidity and polished tannins that lead to a long, balanced finish.
Food pairings
This medium- to full-bodied Tuscan red pairs well with savory, rustic dishes. It complements braised beef, roasted lamb, wild game, and hearty pasta with ragù, while its acidity and tannin structure also make it an excellent match for aged cheeses such as Pecorino or Parmigiano-Reggiano.
