Funtanaliras Vermentino di Gallura
A fresh, aromatic white wine made from 100% Vermentino grown in northern Sardinia’s Gallura zone on decomposed granite soils. The wine expresses the maritime Mediterranean climate with bright acidity, mineral freshness, and elegant fruit character typical of Vermentino di Gallura.
Winemaking process
Funtanaliras is produced from Vermentino grown on granite-derived soils in the Gallura hills at moderate elevation. The grapes undergo gentle crushing and soft pressing followed by temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel to preserve freshness, aromatic purity, and varietal expression. The production emphasizes mineral character and the coastal terroir of northern Sardinia.
Tasting notes
The wine shows delicate aromas of apple, pear, and quince with floral hints of acacia and jasmine and subtle herbal notes. On the palate it is dry and mellow with mineral character, fresh citrus and orchard fruit, and a persistent finish often marked by a light almond note.
Food pairings
This wine pairs especially well with seafood dishes, shellfish, and fish soups, as well as salads, vegetable dishes, and fresh cheeses. Its bright acidity and mineral character also complement light Mediterranean cuisine and simple appetizers.
