Origin & Terroir

  • Crafted on a hilltop in Sant’Angelo in Colle (1,000–1,200 ft altitude), within sandy‑clay marl soils studded with fossils.

  • 100% Sangiovese Grosso; grapes destemmed, gently fermented in stainless steel with extended skin contact and delestage; aged 30 months in Slavonian/Slovenian oak casks plus 4–6 months in bottle before release.

  • Certified organic since around 2011–2013 .

Appearance & Aroma

  • Brilliant ruby‑red with burgundy highlights.

  • Aromas of wild black fruits, black cherry, sometimes bright plum notes; plus smoke, vanilla, cedar, pipe tobacco, and sweet spices.

Palate & Texture

  • Medium‑to‑full body, warm, dry, persistent, structured around polished, powdery tannins.

  • Flavors drift from dark berries to leather, clove, cedar, with echoes of tobacco, dried herbs, and elegant mineral streaks .
