Chianti Colli Fiorentini Darno
A traditional Chianti from the Colli Fiorentini hills near Florence, “Darno” expresses the bright, fruit-driven character of Sangiovese grown in this historic sub-zone of Chianti. The wine is fresh, balanced, and approachable, combining vibrant acidity with soft tannins and a classic Tuscan structure suited to everyday food pairings.
Winemaking process
Grapes are harvested in October and fermented in stainless-steel tanks with approximately 10–15 days of skin maceration and regular pump-overs to extract color and structure. Malolactic fermentation follows immediately, and the wine matures in stainless steel and glass-lined vats before additional bottle aging.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby red in color, the wine opens with aromas of wild berries, sour cherry, and fresh red fruit. The palate is rounded and well balanced, offering flavors of ripe cherry and forest berries with gentle tannins and a lingering, fruit-driven finish.
Food pairings
This Chianti pairs well with classic Italian dishes and hearty Mediterranean cuisine. It complements pasta with meat or tomato sauces, roasted meats, grilled sausages, and traditional roasts, while also pairing nicely with medium-aged cheeses.
