Casetta Barbaresco
This wine is typically medium- to full-bodied with a structured yet elegant profile. It emphasizes balance between fruit, tannin, and acidity, offering a refined and age-worthy expression of Nebbiolo. The wine is matured in oak barrels for extended aging, which enhances complexity and structure while preserving aromatic freshness.
Winemaking process
The wine is produced from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Barbaresco area of Piedmont, where calcareous marl soils and hillside vineyards contribute structure and aromatic complexity. Barbaresco DOCG regulations require at least two years of aging (including time in oak) before release, helping develop balance and depth.
Tasting notes
It commonly shows intense aromas of ripe black cherry, cranberry, and red berries with floral notes such as rose and subtle hints of spice or dried fruit. On the palate, the wine is dry and elegant with firm tannins, lively acidity, and a persistent, complex finish.
Food pairings
Casetta Barbaresco pairs well with roasted meats, game, truffle dishes, aged cheeses, and rich pasta dishes. Its structure and acidity complement savory northern Italian cuisine and earthy flavors typical of Piedmont.
